The Book List #2

For me, there's no better feeling then getting into a book, really getting into a book. To the point were your reading 50 pages a night and complete it in a flash. Well, if you can't guess by that very descriptive intro, this is exactly what happened with this one. Often, its the ones you never expect to be good that are extremely good and you're chuffed to bits that you picked it in the first place.
With this one, I picked it up, randomly, from a library bus that comes round my nain's (grandma) once a month, picking it up as the the cover looked like something it'd get into... ok I judged a book by its cover, but I wasn't all wrong!

Red Red, Burberry

[Scarf; Burberry]
When it comes to treating myself, sometimes it means buying myself a cinnamon latte at Costa, sometimes it means treating myself to a new lipstick for autumn, and other times it means completely splashing out on a scarf that majorly dents your bank account but you have absolutely no regrets whatsoever; well, that's life isn't it.

Ways to Keep Yourself Relaxed

~  Ways to Keep Yourself Relaxed ~

When it comes to being relaxed, truly switching off, forgetting about the million & one things that are circulating inside your brain, it can be tough. Tough to find ways to relax and find the 'thing' that makes you forget about everything unimportant. For me, I'm a bit of stress-head when I have a busy schedule, I want to always go and not sit down till everything is done, which really, is extremely bad and tiring. I think I need to remember, that not everything needs to be done in the same second and you'll actually get a lot more things done quicker if you relax in-between. Here are a few things I do when I want to just relax and forget.. things I do to actually breath at a normal heart rate..

New Orders

It seems I haven't had a bit of spend in awhile, well recently I've seemed to have dipped into my bank account on more than one occasion - I would say there hasn't been too much damage, but that would be lying!
I'll start with the Chanel top coat, a top coat I have to say seems to be an investment worthwhile, I've been using it over the last week and my nails only chipped on the fifth day.. not too bad really. To be honest, the packaging had me at hello, so even if it was crap, I'd still have probably carried on using it.. it IS Chanel after all! Next, is the River Island bobble hat (see it better here) which has fast become my favourite hat and probably the warmest I own; burgundy is just the best colour for A/W so this lil'bobble hat is just true love!

I'll Tell You Something, This Could Be Love

 (Blouse; Next (similar), Skirt; Ted Baker, Tights; AsosBoots; Redherring (similar), Hat; River Island)
 I feel like this is the most autumnal post I've ever done.. must be all the dark red and orange that seems to be in these photos!
Anyway, last week me & my mum took a some much needed, mother-daughter time to the theatre and went to watch Dirty Dancing.. and boy did we enjoy ourselves. Serious question now, is it possible that its one of thee best films like EVER, you've got the amazing music (she's like the wind, being a serious fav), the feel good story line and obvious Johnny Castle - the actor playing him was , well lets put this lightly.. very easy on the eye.
Aw, but honestly we had such a lovely evening and the stage show was just as good as the film itself.. I have to say, the best bit of the evening was the 'Nobody puts baby, in the corner' part; the whole audience cheered! Then there was the obvious, time of our lives lift and I won't lie, I kinda had a lump in my throat! - so glad we booked at went to see it live!

For my outfit for the evening out, I went full on autumn-y, the orange tones of this whole outfit just screams autumn, not to mention I was incredibly toasty all evening, thanks to the black woolly tights and boots - its such a great combo!
The burgundy hat was a new purchase from River Island a week or so ago and I basically haven't taken it off my head! It literally keeps my ears SO warm, LOVE IT!
Aw, what a good day to remember for me - nothing beats nice family days out!

First day of the Office

 (Blouse; Zara (similar), Shoes; Next,  Jeans; Next)
So, the day has finally arrived; I STARTED MY NEW JOB!
I'm absolutely over the moon because it's literally taken a month and a half more than it should have to be sorted out, its been such a drag and extremely annoying... oh well all good things come to those who wait, eh?
Its an office job, which may seem dull but to me I really really love it, as it's quite a small office and the three other women who work there seem absolutely lovely; quite a good recipe!
Here I've got my first day outfit which I wore today, which will basically be my own self-made uniform, its a casual office meaning I don't have to dress up too fancily.
As its quite a casual office, I bought some black leggings to wear everyday, though they have pockets designs, so aren't the typical cheap looking, everyday leggings, these are thick but comfy. The shirt  is what I wore today, but I have bought some similar ones to wear during the week.
The shoes are a little more fancy but probably the nicest shoes I own, they're from the 'forever comfort' range at Next, so I'm crossing fingers and toes that this is true! - I'd love to have work shoes that are forever comfy to wear.
Anyway, my first day is done, despite feeling a little bit like a lemon I got through the first day and I have to say its the best feeling in the world having a proper, adult job - yay for growing up!

MY AUTUMN

 So, its officially ok to wear a wolly hat out and no one bat an eyelid. Its now officially a must to wear wellies when on a walk through the woods, and its now officially the BEST TIME OF THE YEAR.
On Wednesday, I woke up bright and early (well, 9.15), threw on the thermals and took a walk through the woods near where I live. I went on my own and I have to say it was the most refreshing thing I've done in a long time (high five for independence!) Its strange, when you're out walking, you literally get a whole new lease of life, its literally like you realise that the things you're worrying about, are the most unimportant things ever. I really don't know why I don't go for long walks more often; living in the countryside is the most beautiful thing imaginable - not to sound too much like a 70's hippie but nature is really is so calming and beautiful!

On Wednesdays.. We Like Clichés

 (All Zara)
I couldn't help think of Mean Girls with this post, because yano its Wednesday and we ALL know on Wednesdays we wear pink HA - yes I know I'm cliché with that one, well how can you not love Mean Girls!!
Anyway, last Friday I went for a rather leisurely day shopping lots and drinking a little too much coffee (what's new) Also, it was the last time I'll probably brave the nude tights, autumns here an its was liiiiitle but chilly - Hence why I wore my fur coat! This Zara fur coat was an investment from last year and honestly it is thee warmest coat I own, its so snuggly, literally I feel like EVERYONE should invest in a fur coat - you won't be disappointed!

 Also whilst out I did the good deed of donating to Tickle Pink whilst in Asda and gave £1 for the little pin badge. I always think its so worth it buying these badges etc. because at the end of the day, a pound may not be a lot of money but its surprising how long it will go. Also, in River Island they do lovely little colourful bracelets, with £2 going towards Breast cancer charities too (I picked one up beginning of the week, they're seriously lovely!)
Cancer is such a nasty disease and although I have no once personally who has gone through breast cancer, I lost my granddad to cancer a few years back and it was (and still is) literally the hardest thing to go through. I actually found out yesterday that the 16th of October is The Big Pink Day for Breast Cancer, simply dressing in pink to raise awareness, so although it is only Wednesday, here's my pink outfit to raise awareness; its that simple!

Highlights of My Week

 To mix it up a bit on this blog I thought I'd do a little post on a few highlights that made my life just that little more content over the past week or so. Four little things that have actually made a bit difference to my mood, they do say its the little things in life don't they, after all!
The first thing being the Mug from Asda that I picked up a few days ago. It was only £2 and I honestly think its the cutest thing ever. Me being a bit of coffee addict means there is always time for a coffee, so this mug could not be more true! Also, I seem to going through a weird phase were I like collecting cute mugs.. hmm I've gone through weird phases before but this is a bit of an odd one haha.
Another highlight is the fact its now cold enough to dig out my winter scarf, I bought this River Island one literally a year ago (checked back on the ol'blog for that one: the post's here!) I love big snuggly scarves, now there's no excuses to wrap in one at every opportunity!

Its felt like an age since I've done any kind of beauty review on here - another phase: Fashion > Beauty! Well, when I picked up this Barry M - Sparkling Ruby polish, its so beautiful not have some kind of mention on here. Its a glitter ruby red and just SCREAMS Christmas - I don't think I'm going to take it off my nails until the big day now! Also, with these new (ish) 'gelly hi shine' formula, they seem to be so much more long lasting.. very very good!
Lastly, is a beauty product I've thought to use or even buy, but yano with eyebrows becoming such an important thing now in every girls beauty routine, I thought I'd venture into eye brow gels. This one from Bobbi Brown has a small enough brush to give enough precision and actually keeps my brow hair in place all day; I've never used any other kind of brow gel before, so can't compare how good it actually is, but for me I've been lucky enough that this one was good first time!

My Two Pence into Paris Fashion Week

:: Emanuel Ungaro ~ SS16 Ready-to-Wear

To start this little round up of my favourite Paris Fashion Week pieces and collections, I'll begin with the most vibrant, but not all that well-known (well not to me anyway) -Emanuel Ungaro. With fashion week/ month, I find its a great opportunity to discover brands, as well as highlight the excellence of high couture. With this collection, I couldn't help notice the vibrancy, the use of bold colour, the Barbie pinks etc. really caught my eye and I have to point out how much I love the heavy use of pattern. This collection is far from blending into the background and the somewhat 'girliness' of the pieces really tugs at my heart strings - serious heart eyes over here!

:: Hermes ~ SS16 Ready-to-Wear

Next is one of the most luxurious of brands; Hermes. I feel with this label that its best never to look at the price of things, because even the tiniest of items would cost the equivalent of re-mortgaging your house.. well we can all window shop can't we?! This collection though, screams minimalistic (eh look, an oxymoron.. see I do remember something from English language GCSE!) with a feel of a real statement pieces. Though not much colour ran through the collection, the monochrome feel suited the shapes and styles of the pieces shown. On the whole, the simple styles stayed in touch with the high luxury the brand replicates, though minimal, stayed true to Hermes.

:: Chanel ~ SS16 Ready-to-Wear
(Source: http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/spring-summer-2016/ready-to-wear/chanel)

It wouldn't really be Paris Fashion Week if you didn't mention one of the most famous French brands of the modern era, Chanel. This show seemed to be one of the most sorted after, with the whole Airport & Travel theme running through, all Twitter was seemed to throwing up was the words Chanel Airways - this is when you know you've made a statement.. For the line itself, the pieces seem, well quirky is the only word that springs to mind. There seemed to be a lot of tweed influences, with eye catching colours (like shown above) such as royal blues and pinks. In my opinion, there were a lot of pieces I would pick as an individual item, for instance the two piece shown above, I wouldn't necessarily wear it together, but the jacket on its one would work well. It's safe to say, Chanel certainly made an impression...

:: Moncler Gamme Rouge ~ SS16 Ready-to-Wear

Lastly is another brand I'm not familiar with, though with a name like Moncler Gamme Rouge its safe to say I think I've found my new favourite named brand.. what a name!. After looking through the collection and looking into the brand, its roots of being a sportswear brand showed definite signs of influences, with trainers being donned throughout. The back drop though seemed a thing of beauty, giving the pieces femininity, complementing the floral patterns of the pieces worn. I have to say, some of the dresses in this collection seem stunning, again as I always seem to say - if only the prices were just tad cheaper...!

The Hot One Hundred

 As I was scheduling and planning this weeks blog posts it dawned on my that this in fact is my 100 post, on this little blog of mine. It's been just over a year (I think) since I start this and I have to say, it's the most fun I've had and certainly the best hobby. Obviously for some, blogging for a year has brought them amazing opportunities, heaps of followers and free gifts a-boot. But for me, I've never really cared about all that - being an extremely shy girl at heart, I've loved the freedom blogging has had, with it being my little secret - no dramatic change (don't think I could cope with that!!). It's helped be become more organised (if that's possible) and my 'photography skills' (if you could call it that) has developed so much from when I first started.
Blogging is actually an amazing thing, with me being such a massive lover of creating scrapbooks, an online scrapbook is such a nice add-on and sometimes I love to look back over a year and laugh (or cringe) and what I wore/did/say - never thought you could change so much in a year!
I really really hope to carry on this blog as often as possible, and I think I need to stop getting so stressed by it at times - don't reeeally think it matter if a post goes up on a Wednesday when you've scheduled it in your diary for a Tuesday!!! For me, its genuinely a really fulfilling hobby to have and recently, with me having more time on my hands (whilst my new job is being sorted out) it's giving me something to actually do, given me motivation and made me look as if I'm busier then I actually am hahaha
Well, let's hope ill be on 200, 300 even 400 posts soon, because like I said, having a blog is such a nice memory box - who doesn't like looking back on their former self, this way there's always something funny to laugh about!

Dusting off the Winter Coat

 (Blouse; Zara (similar), Coat; Zara, Jeans; Topshop, Brogues: Next (similar), Boots; Next, Sunglasses; Prada (similar)

 So, here I am once more, dusting off the winter coat and preparing for the clocks to be put back an hour. For cosy evenings and freezing ice to become a custom and sandals swapped for boots. I have to say, it seems like every man and his dog loves winter, ok we may be in autumn right now, but in this country autumn and winter are basically rolled into one; just ice cold winds and rain for a solid 7 months.
Here, I have my warm hefty coat I got last year for my birthday, as a present from my Nain (-grandma in welsh ha) and I have to say, that this Zara beauty is my favourite thing ever to wear as it gets colder. Its quite a loose fit, with no buttons to do up in the front, though because its so loose, you can warm it around like a blanket (well that's how it feels!) The pattern also adds to my list of things I love about it - its versatile enough to literally go with any outfit (well, I haven't found anything that doesn't compliment it yet!)
I have to admit, a good winter coat does come at a bit of cost - this one being (I think) £80 ish pounds last year, but from my point of view, if I buy a coat, the amount of wear I get out of it justifies the price, plus its not as if many winter coats like these ever go out of fashion, as to say. So, I feel its not as bad to folk out a little bit more!

Here's my feed from the last few weeks, being a mixture of what I've worn, to just general lifestyle-y happenings. I'm over on: lisaaa1809 - if you comment your usernames, I'll be sure to give a follow back - its always fun finding new feeds to lust upon!
